We took the field for the first time in Spring 2022 with the goal of playing baseball in a fun, accessible, and inclusive environment while also having a positive impact on our city.​​​​​ Since then, our group has grown from just three players to more than 100 and created three baseball teams - the Milwaukee Bangers, the Milwaukee Pandas, and the Milwaukee Fonzies.

Each of our teams operate independently from other local baseball leagues, and we work together as a collective to sustain our own community of ballplayers. While we may look like a traditional league from the outside because of the way that we organize events, plan our seasons, and play the game, we pride ourselves on being unique and having intentions beyond winning the game when we take the field. Just a few of the things we do differently include not keeping standings, not tracking stats, and letting our players umpire games on their own.

Simply put, we’re a group of people who get together and play baseball because we love the game. Our goal is to bring people together, create friendships, and give everyone the opportunity to experience the joys of playing baseball.

 

Our style of baseball isn’t for everyone, and if you’re looking for an ultra-competitive outlet to enjoy the game, we probably aren’t for you. However, if you just want to come out and have a good time, make new friends, and play baseball in a low-stress, welcoming, and casual environment, there’s no better place to be!

There’s no specific baseball background or experience required to play, and we welcome newcomers year-round. All we’re looking for are good people who consistently participate, show a willingness to improve their skills, make positive contributions to our club, and demonstrate a strong desire to help our community grow. If you’re interested in playing ball with us, start by submitting the “Milwaukee Sandlot Sign-Up Form” located on the Join page.

 

After you sign up, come out to an open-play session, connect with our players, and join one of our teams! If you want to keep it extra casual and stick to playing pickup ball, taking some swings during batting practice, or shagging fly balls, that’s cool too!​
