The Milwaukee Bangers were established in Fall 2022. The team’s name pays tribute to Milwaukee’s 1982 World Series team, Harvey’s Wallbangers. As a
501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, they have a mission of creating positive community impact while playing a friendly, carefree brand of baseball.

The team consists of a wide range of ballplayers, from first-timers to veterans. New players are always welcome!

The Milwaukee Pandas were established in Spring 2026 in response to an explosion of local interest in sandlot baseball. The team’s name is a tip of the cap to the Milwaukee Bears, a professional baseball team that played at Borchert Field on Milwaukee’s North side for one season in 1923.

Like the Bangers, the Pandas roster consists of ballplayers from all backgrounds, experiences, and skill levels. New players are always welcome!

The Milwaukee Fonzies were established in Summer 2026 due to continued local interest in our sandlot baseball teams and increasing participation by people in our community. The team’s name is a nod to the TV sitcom Happy Days, which was set in Milwaukee.

Staying true to the pillars that make Milwaukee Sandlot spectacular, the Fonzies roster consists of ballplayers from all backgrounds, experiences, and skill levels. New players are always welcome!

TEAMS FAQ

Q.

How do I join one of the teams?

A.

First, sign up! Then, come to a few open-play games or practices to meet some fellow ballplayers and make sure that we’re the right style of baseball for you. One of our team captains will contact you with the next steps.

Q.

What league do the teams play in?

A.

Each of our teams operate independently and do not participate in any local leagues. We organize our own games, create our own schedules, and play our own style of baseball.

Q.

Where do the teams play?

A.

Games are generally played in the Milwaukee area and nearby Wisconsin cities. In the past, our teams have also played at iconic, historic baseball sites and in special events throughout the United States. Traveling for special events is encouraged but not required.

Q.

Who can play on a team?

A.

Each team sets it own standards and guidelines for participation. Generally, players must be 21+ and show that they can consistently participate and positively impact our club.

Q.

What skill level is required to play for one of the teams?

A.

There is no specific skill level required to play. Our teams have players from many different baseball backgrounds. The main thing we look for is that you’re a good person who’s willing to improve your own skills, help others improve, and have a positive impact on our club.

Q.

When I sign up, does that mean I’m on a team?

A.

Not necessarily. The overwhelming majority of our new players sign up as free agents and join a team after participating in a few open-play game or practices and connecting with our players.

Q.

Is there a limit to how many players can be on a team?

A.

Each team sets its own guidelines for active roster sizes. Generally, rosters are capped at 20 active players to ensure that players get adequate playing time during games.

Q.

What if the team I want to play for is full?

A.

We still encourage you to participate in open-play baseball, meet new people, make friends, and even consider starting your own team. After all, that’s how the Pandas, Fonzies, and more than 200 other sandlot teams around the U.S. have started!

Q.

Can I play in games if I’m not on a team?

A.

Yes and no. We limit participation in team games to active, rostered players to ensure fair and adequate playing time. However, our teams host multiple scrimmages, pickup games, and  other events every season so that our free agent players get plenty of game experience.

Q.

Does it cost anything to play on a team?

A.

It costs $39 to sign up and join. Additionally, teams will collect their own dues from their players each season to pay for team expenses. Generally, team dues cost a nominal amount of $10-$20 per player each season. Reach out to your team captain for specific information.

Q.

Is there a registration deadline?

A.

No. We welcome new players throughout our season.
